I made this picture this morning and thought this is really a perfect ghost morning.

My daughter and me made our first Halloween decoration: the ghost garland, made out of vintage book pages. It is not perfect, butI think that makes it special.

The ghost in the back was me.

More leaves – noch mehr Blätter

I spent the week-end outside with all the leaves enjoying the sun.
Now finally my experiments with the paper leaves, as promised more leaves.

I found these leaves skeletons in the garden while weeting yesterday – a perfect background for the paper punch outs.
By the way in German we have the same word for leaves and sheets.
The background is a vintage book cover painted with my daughter’s watercolours.

When autumn starts I have to collect leaves – it is every year the same thing. I love their different forms and wonderful colours.To draw them, to dry them or just to arrange them somewhere.

Eigentlich wollte ich für heue davon ein paar Frottagen machen, ist es nicht faszinierend, wieviele verschiedene Oberflächen Holz haben kann?
Actually I planned to do some frottages today, is it fascinating how many different surfaces wood has?

Dies ist zwar noch kein richtiges Treibholz, aber das Meer hat sie schon ganz schön “bearbeitet”
This is not really driftwood, but the sea “works” a lot on them.

Fehmarn Katharinenhof

Hier seht ihr einen meiner liebsten Sammelorte…der Strand vom Katharinenhof auf Fehmarn. Besonders nach einem richtigen Sturm habe ich hier wundervolle Stücke gefunden.

This is one of my favourite collect places…the beach of Katharinenhof of the isles of Fehmarn. Especially after a storm you will find wonderful pieces.

This weeks drawing challenge theme “circus” reminds me of my childhood, when we visited the circus. The wonderful colours and the tension in the manege – of course not to forget the clowns…

In Erinnerungen schwelgend ist diese Postkartencollage zum Buchstabenlernen entstanden- vielleicht der Auftakt zu einem Vintage ABC.

Gewitterstimmung – stormy atmosphere

Vor ein paar Jahren habe ich einen tollen Kurs “freie Malerei” in Trier gemacht.
Als Anfangsübung haben wir uns alle 20 Holzplatten gekauft und diese nach Lust und Laune bemalt und mit allen möglichen Dingen wie Papier, Kordel, alten Stoffresten und was wir so gefunden haben, beklebt. Das hat so viel Spaß gemacht und ich bin in einen richtigen Farb- und Kleberausch geraten.

Jetzt habe ich sie wiedergefunden und dieses hier könnte auch heute mein Blick aus dem Fenster sein.

Hach – ich hätte Lust 1 Woche frei zu machen und mir wieder 20 Platten zu kaufen…

Some years ago I made a course “free paintin” at Trier. To start we bought 20 wood plates, painted and sticked them all over with papers, strings and all kind of fabrics just as the fancy took us. I was really a lot of fun. Now I found them and I think the first (stormy atmosphere) one could be today view out of the window.
How do you like them? I would like to take one week off and buy 20 more wood plates…

Vogelpost und Diskettenrecycling

Bei Regenwetter mache ich immer besonders gerne bunte Collagen.

Und weil heute Dienstag ist… gibt es Vogelpost für Anjas “Watch the Birdie”

und eine recycelte Diskette, die mir beim Aufräumen in die Hände gefallen ist und die ich nicht einfach so wegschmeissen konnte. Wer weiß, vielleicht verbirgt sie ja immer noch ein paar geheime Daten, die ich leider nicht mehr lesen kann.

Jetzt ist daraus diese Collage geworden und sie passt doch gut zu Ninas Upcycling – Dienstag, oder?
