Zur Erinnerung an Otfried Preussler…(1923 – 2013)
Vielen Dank lieber Otfried Preussler für die schönen Kindheitserinnerungen mit dem Räuber Hotzenplotz, der kleinen Hexe, dem kleinen Gespenst und all den anderen tollen Geschichten, die unsere Kindheit so schön bunt und spannend gemacht haben!
Leuchttürme haben mich schon als Kind fasziniert. Vielleicht weil sie mich immer an alte Piratengeschichten erinnern…wie in in den 5 Freunde Büchern.
Was für ein Traum wäre es mal in einem Leuchtturm zu wohnen…
Dieser steht zwischen Domburg und Westkapelle in Holland und bei jedem Besuch fahren wir immer einmal zu ihm.

Since I was a child lighthouses were fascinating to me, perhaps I am thinking of the pirates storys of the famous five books. I am still dreaming of living in a lighthouse just for a day.
This one is standing between Domburg and Westkapelle in the Netherland.

…quer durch ein altes Buch. Wenn ich ein Buch mit einem schönen alten Cover oder irgendetwas besonderem finde, nehme ich es meistens mit und so habe ich inzwischen ein ganz schöne Sammlung davon. Einige habe ich zu Buchskulpturen gefaltet, einige sind zu Wandbildern geworden und jetzt wollte ich mal was Neues ausprobieren.
A discovery through a vintage book. When I see vintage books on a flea market with something special, I have to buy it. So up to now I have lots of them. Some of them I folded throught bookskulptures and some became pictures. Now I wanted something new.
Ich habe jede Menge Kreise ausgeschnitten und dabei all diese Wörter gefunden…
I cut out lots of circles and found all these words….(like spring, children, people, sun, moment, sun…)
Dazu angeregt hat mich das tolle Thema von Emilys drawing challenge „Entdeckung“

Heute habe ich beim Aufräumen diese kleine Kiste gefüllt mit lauter kleinen bunten Stoffstücken, gefunden.
Today I found this little box with lots of little colourful pieces of fabric.
Wenn ich mich richtig erinnere, sind das die Ecken der ersten Kalender, die ich vor 4 Jahren gemacht habe. Weil sie so schön bunt und fröhlich waren, konnte ich sie einfach nicht wegschmeissen. Heute war ich eigentlich fest entschlossen, sie zu entsorgen, aber dann fiel mir Normas Thema „beads“ für die Drawing challenge ein und hatte ich die Idee, das ich aus ihnen wunderbar „Beads“ ausschneiden könnte. Daraus sind die beiden Collagen entstanden, die einen perfekten Kontrast zum Grau draußen bilden.
These were the edges, which I cut off when I made my first calendars 4 years ago. Because of the wonderful colours I picked them up. Today I was intended to dispose them, but then I remembered Normas thema „beads“ for the drawing challenge and I had the idea to cut out beads of the little fabrics. I made these two collages out of the cuttings, which made a perfect contrast through the snow grey outside.

Stefanie hat mich diese Woche zur Drawing challenge mit dem Thema „Krone“ eingeladen. Ich habe eine Pause beim Entrümpeln gemacht und dabei ist bei einem flüchtigen Gedanken an Max Ernst diese Dada Collage entstanden.

Für die Drawing challenge hat Ariane diese Woche „Schlange“ vorgeschlagen mit dem Hinweis, das im Februar das Jahr der Schlange beginnt.

Norma called for ghosts this week…
I made this picture this morning and thought this is really a perfect ghost morning.
My daughter and me made our first Halloween decoration: the ghost garland, made out of vintage book pages. It is not perfect, butI think that makes it special.
The ghost in the back was me.

When autumn starts I have to collect leaves – it is every year the same thing. I love their different forms and wonderful colours.To draw them, to dry them or just to arrange them somewhere.
For todays drawing challenge I have planned to do some collages with some different materials.
So I cut out and punched leaves from vintage books – I will show you tomorrow what happened to all the things…

Dies ist zwar noch kein richtiges Treibholz, aber das Meer hat sie schon ganz schön „bearbeitet“
This is not really driftwood, but the sea „works“ a lot on them.
Hier seht ihr einen meiner liebsten Sammelorte…der Strand vom Katharinenhof auf Fehmarn. Besonders nach einem richtigen Sturm habe ich hier wundervolle Stücke gefunden.
This is one of my favourite collect places…the beach of Katharinenhof of the isles of Fehmarn. Especially after a storm you will find wonderful pieces.

Unser Reiseziel dieses Jahr steht noch nicht fest und so reise ich schon mal in Gedanken und Collagen an schöne Orte…

Vor ein paar Jahren habe ich einen tollen Kurs „freie Malerei“ in Trier gemacht.
Als Anfangsübung haben wir uns alle 20 Holzplatten gekauft und diese nach Lust und Laune bemalt und mit allen möglichen Dingen wie Papier, Kordel, alten Stoffresten und was wir so gefunden haben, beklebt. Das hat so viel Spaß gemacht und ich bin in einen richtigen Farb- und Kleberausch geraten.
Jetzt habe ich sie wiedergefunden und dieses hier könnte auch heute mein Blick aus dem Fenster sein.

Hach – ich hätte Lust 1 Woche frei zu machen und mir wieder 20 Platten zu kaufen…
Some years ago I made a course „free paintin“ at Trier. To start we bought 20 wood plates, painted and sticked them all over with papers, strings and all kind of fabrics just as the fancy took us. I was really a lot of fun. Now I found them and I think the first (stormy atmosphere) one could be today view out of the window.
How do you like them? I would like to take one week off and buy 20 more wood plates…
